I like to say that I don't paint "things" but something always appears. Whether it comes from my inner world or the external one, it's exhilarating when the process changes from me looking at the canvas to it looking back. This study is part of my exploration into the universal shape of the digit. As a building block, this shape and the abstraction of all its components becomes something new. The crowded canvas lends itself to the idea of a group of digits or one entity with many digits. It's up to the viewer to assign a meaning based on their own reflection.
