Words and images have such a profound ability to alter our state of being. I find that combining text in my work not only gives the title of a piece out loud but also carries weight on its own. For this painting titled "Splendor," I wanted to paint that moment when the beautifully unexpected presented itself. And adding the text gives space for that unexpected moment to linger even for a moment longer.
