Linda Wandt

Linda Wandt is an Austin-based representational oil painter whose work explores quiet, contemplative moments rendered with an ethereal sensibility. Working in both alla prima (wet-on-wet) and traditional glazing techniques, she creates paintings that balance immediacy with luminous layers of depth, often reflecting themes of introspection and stillness.

Born on Long Island, New York, Wandt moved to Texas in 1999 and later earned a BA in Studio Art from The University of Texas at Austin. She currently teaches at the Dougherty Arts Center and Cordovan Art School, sharing her passion for traditional oil painting with emerging artists.
Her work has been exhibited in Austin City Hall’s People’s Gallery, and she was awarded a Juror’s Choice Award at Art City Austin and a City of Austin Building Capacity Grant in 2018. In 2025, she completed a residency at the Wild Basin Creative Research Center, culminating in her solo exhibition A Spring in Stillness.
