We’re thrilled to debut a fresh series of artwork from Austin-based surrealist Sandra Boskamp, now on view at The Women’s Gallery.
Originally from the Netherlands, Sandra has developed a distinct style that fuses realistic portraiture with gestural abstraction. Her faces—entirely imagined—are layered, distorted, and emotionally charged. Each piece invites the viewer to pause and question what lies beneath the surface.
This newest drop includes seven dynamic works that are as visually compelling as they are conceptually rich:
Blindfold│$3100 (36"x36", painted on Turkish Upholstery Fabric)
The Routine│$1650 (24"x24")
I Awake in Darkness│$2400 (24"x30")
The Goddess Olokun│$2400 (24"x30")
The Cellist│$2400 (24"x30")
Maybe You Were Just Delirious│$2400 (24"x30")
Desert Stroll│$2800 (30"x30")
Sandra’s signature use of oil and acrylic creates movement and tension within each portrait, offering a surreal exploration of identity, presence, and perception. Whether it’s the vibrant desert dreamscape of Desert Stroll or the layered symbolism of Blindfold., each piece brings something entirely unique to the collection.
